After returning to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a gold medal from the 2022 Hangzhou Asian
Games, will Lee Kang-jin be able to start in a UEFA Champions League match? There are mixed
opinions in France about whether he will start.
PSG will take on AC Milan (Italy)
In the third leg of their 2022-23 UEFA Champions League Group F match at the Parc des Princes in
Paris, France, at 4 a.m. on June 26.
Drawn in the Group of Death, PSG defeated Dortmund (Germany) 2-0 in their first Champions
League match of the season, but fell to a 1-4 defeat in the second leg against Newcastle (England).
For PSG
They need to win this match at home. If they lose at home, they won’t be guaranteed a spot in the
round of 16. Luckily, PSG bounced back with a 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Starsburg on Oct. 22.
Lee Kang-woo
Also started against Strasbourg and scored a brace in the win. After being sidelined for the past two
months due to injury and the Asian Games, Lee led the PSG attack against Strasbourg with his
creative passing on the right flank and his ability to break off the dribble at a moment’s notice.
Given his performance against Strasbourg, it’s safe to assume he’ll start against AC Milan, but local speculation is mixed.
French outlet L’Equipe is predicting that PSG will go with a 4-4-2 formation and that Lee will start on the left flank midfield.
Le Parisien and RMC Sport, on the other hand, do not have Lee’s name on their projected starting
lineups. Both outlets are predicting that Ousmane Dembele, Manuel Ugarte, and Kolo Moani, who
were left out of the starting lineup in Strasbourg, will return to the starting lineup after being rested.
Despite the uncertainty of his starting spot, Lee told the club: “The Champions League is a stage
where every player wants to play. It’s something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid,” he said, adding,
“The game against AC Milan is important for the team and for us. We will prepare well and try to win.” 스포츠토토맨
