‘New Ice Queen’ Kim Min-sun (Uijeongbu City Hall) won the silver medal in the 500-meter second race at the 2023-2024 International Ice Skating Federation (ISU) Speedskating World Cup Final Four.

Kim crossed the line in 37.96 seconds to take second place in the second race of the Women’s 500-meter Division A (First Division) at the 2023-2024 ISU Speedskating World Cup Final at the Rhododa Arena in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland, on Tuesday (Feb. 10), just 0.16 seconds behind Erin Jackson (USA-37.80).

Kim, who won her first gold medal of the season at the last World Cup (37.73), followed up her gold in race one with a silver in race two, making it three in a row.

With 352 ranking points, Kim remains second in the World Cup standings, 22 points behind leader Erin Jackson (USA-374).

Kim competed in her old boots for the first and second races of the fourth edition of the World Cup, instead of her new boots, and finished on the podium in all three races.

Competing against Kine Choates (USA – 38.32) in the final heat of the day, Kim covered the first 100 meters in 10.49, the second-fastest time overall, and spurted over the final 400 meters but was unable to catch Jackson’s time.

Competing in the eighth heat, Jackson ran the first 100 meters in 10.45 to take first place overall and never let up the rest of the way to claim her third gold medal of the season.

Kim Na-hyun (Nowon-go), who finished second in Division B in the first race of the event and moved up to Division A in the second race of the day, finished 11th with a time of 38.60 seconds.

Meanwhile, Jung Jae-won (Uijeongbu City Hall), who competed in Division A of the men’s 1,500 meters, finished 15th with a time of 1:49.42. 온라인카지노
