Heungkuk Life closes out 1R lead over IBK, Hyundai Capital gets first win

Women’s professional volleyball Heungkuk Life ended the first round with a win.

Heungkuk Life defeated IBK Kookmin Bank 3-1 (26-24 15-25 25-19 28-26) in three sets on Thursday at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon, South Korea, in a home match of the 현금홀덤사이트 Women’s Professional Volleyball Dodram 2023-24 V League.

With the win, Heungkuk Life wrapped up the first round of the regular season with a 5-1 record. They remained atop the standings with 15 points. On the other hand, IBK, which had won two straight games after losing its opening three, saw its winning streak snapped. They finished with a 2-4 record and 5 points.

After trading a set apiece, the match was decided in the third set. Heungkuk Life took the lead at 14-12 with an attack and service ace by Kim Mi-yeon. The team added more points with two opponent errors and a late attack by Yelena Mrazenovic (registered name Yelena) to go up 19-13.

The victorious Heungkuk Life scored the next 25 points, including a service ace by Kim Da-sol and an opponent error, to take the third set.

Down 16-21 in the fourth set, Heungkuk Life fought back to tie the set and then won it on a deuce. IBK Kookmin Bank had to settle for a deuce at 24-23 due to a service error by setter Ponpun Gedpard (registered name Ponpun).

Heungkuk Sinsaeng’s “duo” Yelena and Kim Yeon-kyung scored 19 and 17 points, respectively, while Kim Mi-yeon and Reina contributed 11 and 9 points. For IBK, Abe Crombie and Pyo Seung-ju both scored 20 points, but they couldn’t prevent their team from losing.

Hyundai Capital defeated KB Insurance in straight sets 3-0 (26-24 25-20 25-23) in the men’s match at Yoo Yoo-soon Gymnasium in Cheonan.

Hyundai Capital, which had dropped its last five matches, including the opener, to fall to the bottom of the standings (7th), earned three points for the first time this season. With a 1-5 record, they moved up to fifth place, ahead of KB Insurance (4-1 W-5 L) and KEPCO (3-1 W-4 L).

Hyundai Capital, which had earned just two points in its previous five games with two 2-3 losses, broke through with its first win of the season. KB Insurance, on the other hand, has lost five straight games since winning its first game of the season.

Hyundai Capital was led by foreign players Ahmed Iqbairi (19 points – registered name Ahmed) and Heo Soo-bong (14 points) on the flanks, while Park Sang-ha and Choi Min-ho (8 points each) played in the center.

KB Insurance was led by Andres Villena (21 points) and Hwang Kyung-min (18 points), but their blocking and fast breaks left something to be desired.
