The Diamond League, where the world’s best players participate, is held a total of 14 times a year.

A format in which rankings are determined by ranking points in 13 competitions and the final winner is determined in the 14th final competition.

Woo Sang-hyuk, who unfortunately failed to advance to the finals by finishing in 7th place by 1 point last year

took second place in both the Doha competition (2m27) and the Rome/Florence (2m30) competition this year, earning a total of 14 points.

And in this Zurich competition, he added 6 points and comfortably secured a ticket to the finals in 4th place.

Woo Sang-hyuk is the first Korean player to play in the Diamond League Finals.

In addition, with this result, he was able to shake off some of the regret of finishing in 6th place with 2m29 at the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships on the 23rd of last month.

On this day, Woo Sang-hyuk, who surpassed 2m15, 2m20m, and 2m24 all in the first period, faced a crisis after failing in the first and second periods in succession at 2m28.

But he did not waver.

He finally broke 2m28 in the third period.

He then touched the bar repeatedly in the first and second periods at 2m31, but succeeded at the end of the third period.

Afterwards, Woo Sang-hyuk, who failed at 2m33 in the first period, took on the challenge of raising the bar to 2m35 when Barshim and Kerr passed it in the first period.

He tried twice, but unfortunately failed to clear the bar.

As such, he finished this competition with a ticket to the finals

taking 3rd place in the competition and 4th place in the 2023 season.
