Foreigners who studied international sports administration at Seoul National University reunite in Paris

Foreigners who studied sports administration at Seoul National University gathered at Korea House in Paris, France, where the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are underway.

“We held a DTM reunion event at Korea House to bring together Dream Together Master graduates,” Seoul National University’s International Sports Administrator Training Program said on Thursday (local time).

Seoul National University’s Dream Together Master is a sports international development cooperation project that trains the next generation of sports administrators in developing countries, and the first batch of students was selected in 2013.

With the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Corporation, the program has so far produced 221 graduates from 57 countries, who have returned to their home countries to work in government agencies, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), and international sports organizations.

Among them, about 30 graduates were dispatched to Paris to represent their respective NOCs, governments, international federations, and the IOC.

They gathered at the Korea House on Thursday to share their experiences and success stories and discuss ways to develop sports in their countries and spread Olympic values.

“Ten years after graduating from the first class of DTM, the knowledge and experience I gained at DTM is still very helpful in the sports field and has had a great impact on the development of sports in Kazakhstan,” said Oljas Oljas, Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Taekwondo Association, who attended the event. “I am grateful to Korea for the opportunity to meet and network with alumni from various countries.”

“I will continue to work hard for the development of international sports,” said Firas, a fourth-year alumnus and World Triathlon Coordinator from Jordan.

The event was also attended by officials from major international sports organizations, including IOC member Obita Lappila.

“It is meaningful to create a place where alumni who have grown into sports administration leaders through the DTM over the past 11 years can gather again at Korea House to share their experiences and achievements,” said Kang Joon-ho. “We will continue to do our best to contribute to the development of international sports and strengthen Korean sports diplomacy.” 파워볼사이트 추천
