The Korean national team competing in the Homeless World Cup received a training session with the Bayern Munich (Germany) squad.
The Seoul 2024 Homeless World Cup Organizing Committee announced on Friday that former and current Bayern Munich players and coaches gave a one-day training session to the Korean Homeless World Cup reserve team at the Adidas The Base futsal field in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Former players such as Munich defender Nusair Mazrouei, former defender Diego Contratto, and former German national team goalkeeper Lymont Aumann participated as coaches, while senior vice president Dieter Meyer and vice president Walter Menezes were also present.
From South Korea, Ahn Byung-hoon, head coach Lee Han-byul, coaching staff, and 11 reserve players attended the program, which included passing drills, dribbling, and mini-games on a hot pitch.
Munich presented the Korean team with an autographed jersey of Kim Min-jae, and the national team also presented a framed handwritten calligraphy piece with a message welcoming the guests to Korea and their Korean names.
“The value of ‘ending homelessness’ through soccer is very inspiring,” said Dieter Meyer, senior vice president of Munich, adding, “Social values have always been important to us at Munich.”
Meanwhile, the Homeless World Cup reserve team was invited by Tottenham (England) to meet with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and defender Destiny Udogi at the Mokdong Futsal Stadium in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, on the first day of the tournament, where they practiced penalty shootouts and played a match together under the rules of the Homeless World Cup.
Meanwhile, the Seoul 2024 Homeless World Cup, which will feature more than 500 underprivileged players from 64 teams from 49 countries, will be held at Hanyang University Stadium from Nov. 21 to 28. 토토사이트 순위
