(SEOUL) By Kim Dong-chan (Yonhap) = After two days of bogey-free play, South Korea’s Choi Sang-woong won the 14th edition of the Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) Thrixon Tour event with a total prize fund of 80 million won.
Choi shot a 5-under 67 with five birdies in the second round on the final day of the tournament at Gunsan CC (par-72, 7,253 yards) in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do on Tuesday.
With a first- and second-round total of 12-under-par 132, Choi finished two strokes ahead of the runner-up. He earned 16 million won in prize money.
“It feels really good to win after six years,” said Choi, who also won the Kaido Tour Championship, a regular tour event, in 2017. “I haven’t played well in the last three years due to a back injury, but I’ve been working on my swing and I’m getting back into shape,” he said.
Han Seung-hoon and Chung Jae-hyun 고스톱 finished in a tie for second place at 10-under par 134.
